I have been in communication with Dr Shaw about that letter of Dr C T Walker's on the subject of Barometric Units, and find that he has in hand a memorandum on the question to go round with the letter. He is going to consult you about it; so the matter is in train.
We are arranging for a pull of the first proof of every A paper to be sent to you direct from the printers so soon as it is set up. Mr White has no remembrance of your having expressed a desire for this before, or it would have been attended to. A cable from America came this morning addressed to you, but I gave instructions without opening it that it should be telegraphed on to you at once, as I knew you were expecting one.' |
