Description | Rix sends a number of enclosures [not included]: Foster's corrected copy and the new proof of the draft regulation, of which he has 30 copies, and for which he asks for instructions with regard to circulation; a draft of the catalogue letter which has also been sent to the Treasurer [John Evans] and Lord Rayleigh; Professor Arthur Rücker's two letters concerning Bayliss and Stirling which he located in Foster's portfolio; a letter to Lord Hershell for Foster to sign and post, with Rix noting that he has unofficially informed him of the first possible date for admission.
A further matter, annotated as 'immediate' relates to the fact that Major General Scott of 86 Cornwall Gardens had just visited. Rix reports that Scott has to see Foster about a matter of private Government business, and wishes, if possible, to see him tomorrow. Should Foster be coming to town tomorrow, Rix asks that he wire Scott at once to make an appointment. |
