At their meeting last week the President and Council of the Royal Society granted leave, to the Secretary of the American Committees for preparing the Centennial History of the Inauguration of the American Government; to photograph for publication the portrait of Dr Benjamin Franklin presented to the Royal Society by Mr Caleb Whitefoord.
