TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Arthur Schuster, Secretary of the Royal Society
Date8 July 1914
DescriptionSending one more not to consider with the new form of reference. It arises out of recent experience with Dr Blackman, and is needed to check a growing tendency to looseness on the part of referees. The note which Harrison appends [no enclosures] might be inserted as a paragraph on the first page of the form in italics.

Passed through a whole batch of manuscripts for 'Proceeding's [of the Royal Society]', thus furnishing material for printing for some time to come. Harrison is confident that there shall be plenty of copy in hand for a number at the beginning of August, over and above the papers he mentioned in his letter of yesterday, and which he has marked for pages today. There are always special delays at this time of year owing to the absence of authors, resulting in the detention of proofs, but Harrison feels pretty sure there ought to be enough copy ready for press.
