|Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society to Dr W Meyer, Weimarstraat 43, The Hague
|27 January 1915
|Harrison responds to a request for "an explanation of the Society's crest", to which Harrison replies that he cannot give one and doubts if any explanation is known.
Harrison informs Meyer that the Arms and Crest were granted to the Society in their Charter of 22nd April 1663 and gives the latin description.
You requested that myself and Dave Tanner come into the room. Right, now I know that took a lot of doing and your very upset as we all were.
