Title | Copy letter from Sir William Bate Hardy, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Mr [Sheffield Airey] Neave [CMG OBE] |
Date | 25 October 1919 |
Description | Apologises that his previous letter was too late. Advises he saw Sir Alfred [Moritz] Mond [1st Baron Melchett] who was very sympathetic, but it is out of his power to do anything. Burlington House is the only government building that can be used to accommodate societies. Advises a possibility that has come up is in the enclosed memorandum [not enclosed], and requests the transaction remain private for now, until Hardy has seen Mr Stanley Leathes about the matter, who is a personal friend. |
