Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society; to Professor [Sir William Abbott] Herdman, Foreign Secretary of the Royal Society |
Date | 16 July 1919 |
Description | Concerning the Challenger volumes, Harrison advises he has not had all the replies from the Challenger Committee, but that the majority of the Committee are favourable to the grant of the volumes to Port Erin Library, and he will propose this to the Treasury. He will also send a newspaper cutting about wheat preservation to the Wheat Commission, and remind Mr Hardy about the resolution and Lord Crawford. He thinks it would be 'better to get the Council to pronounce officially upon it without waiting for all these unofficial communications which do not come off.' |
