Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Sir Robert Stawell Ball, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 4 April 1892 |
Description | In reply to Ball's letter of the 2 April, the application dated 11 March brought to the Society by a representative from Messrs Isbisters, was too late for the Council meeting and Rix has therefore not had time to submit the request in due form. Rix told the Messrs that there was practically no objection to their proceedings however since the permission of Council is really a formal matter. Rix suggested the Messrs apply to Messrs Malby & Sons to ascertain whether the figures are still on the stone as they could then save some considerable expense. Rix was therefore surprised to learn from Ball's letter that the matter was still in abeyance. Ball may safely proceed to copy the figures since the book will of course not be actually published before the next Council meeting on 28 April. |
