TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to George Ellis
Date17 September 1892
DescriptionThe Royal Society is concerned only with mathematical and physical science and oriental manuscripts are not at all in their sphere. They would perhaps be more welcome at the Royal Asiatic Society and Library. Rix returns the parcel by parcel post this morning. Some of the papyrus was a good deal broken on arrival, whether this occurred in transit he cannot say.
