TitleCopy letter from Francis Alexander Towle, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society; to [Ernest Hanbury] Hankin Esquire, Chemical Examiner to the Government; United Provinces and Central Provindes, Agra, India
Date9 May 1921
DescriptionAgrees that it is curious that only sixteen Fellows were elected in 1853. Notes that he has been unable to trace why this happened. Also confirms that neither [Antoine Jean Francois] Claudet nor [Paul Edmund de] Strzelecki were elected as Foreign Members, as the former was an Englishman and the latter a naturalised Englishman.
