TitleCopy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Sir Richard [Tetley] Glazebrook, Chairman of the Physics Committee and FRS
Date16 June 1921
DescriptionInforms Sir Richard [Tetley] Glazebrook that [Thomas Ralph] Merton reported favourably on the paper by [James Johnston] Dobbie and [John Jacob] Fox and asks whether it can be passed under Standing Order 43. Also notes that F. C. Toy is reportedly unwilling to reduce his paper as recommended, except by the omission of the Figure, and asks Sir Glazebrook what to do on the matter. Informs him of a new paper by [William Arthur] Bone, 'Gaseous combustion at high pressures, part II'. Notes that he has already put this down for reading as, if the experimental results obtained by Bone are right, then they represent a complete refutation of the theory put forward by Taylor Jones, Morgan and Wheeler.
