Title | Copy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Professor [John William] Nicholson, Chairman of the Mathematics Committee and FRS |
Date | 26 April 1921 |
Description | Informs Professor [John William] Nicholson that the paper by [George Walker] Walker, 'The problem of fomote focal depth revealed seismometers', was sent to [Arthur] Schuster for report as suggested. Explains that Schuster recommended publication in the 'Proceedings', however, Walker is reluctant to reduce the size of his diagrams to fit the 'Proceedings' page. Asks Professor Nicholson to look over the paper and assess whether this reluctance is justified. Also notes that [Ernest] Rutherford has sent in a paper by [Étienne Samuel] Bieler, 'The current induced in a cable by the passage of a mass of magnetic material over it'. Again asks Professor Nicholson to look over this and confirm whether or not it can be passed under Standing Order 43. |
