Title | Copy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Dr. [Charles] Chree, FRS |
Date | 23 June 1921 |
Description | Informs Dr. [Charles] Chree that, as he understands it, Dr. [George Clarke] Simpson raised the point of his continuing as Secretary of the Gassiot Committee on the grounds that there could be an objection to an official of the Meteorological Office also acting on a Committee whose function is to provide 'friendly criticism'. Assures Dr. Chree that no action has been taken on this point and suggests letting the business go. |
