Title | Copy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to [Frank Edward] Smith, Esq., FRS |
Date | 13 March 1924 |
Description | Encloses a document [not enclosed in copy] which [James Hopwood Jeans] states will explain itself. Jeans states that Frank Edward Smith has been written to beforehand without the invitation of the Physical Society in front of him stating the need only for one representative. As Charles Sherrington is ill with Sciatica, Jeans is currently looking for another representatives. States that Thompson has been approached, however he has a college meeting on the day in question. Asks if Smith can unofficially notify [Alexander Oliver] Rankine of the situation for his convenience as Jeans cannot notify him until the Council have appointed representatives, who will likely be Sherrington and Jeans. |
