Title | Copy letter from Francis Alexander Towle, Assistant Secretary and Librarian of the Royal Society; to Dr Arnold Chaplin; 3 York Gate, Regents Park, N.W.1. |
Date | 14 January 1925 |
Description | Wishes that they had known sooner of Dr Arnold Chaplin's interest in rare books, or he would have been invited to inspect a collection of 300-400 volumes presented to the Royal Society in the mid-17th century by Mr Henry Howard of Norfolk (the Arundel collection). Informs Chaplin that most have already been dispatched to Sotheby and Co., but that eleven volumes of scientific interest have been retained and he is welcome to go through them. |
