Description | Informs the Under Secretary of State that at the Pan Pacific Congress in Australia in August 1924, a Committee was appointed to investigate the temperature, currents, salinity and chemical state of the pacific ocean. Informs him that Mr Wayland Vaughan of the Scripps Institution for Biological Research of the University of California is Chairman, and wishes his committee to include a member from each of the countries represented at the Congress meeting in Australia; the Royal Society has been asked to nominate the British member of this Committee. Asks what the Colonial Office's opinion on this is. |
