Title | Copy letter from William Bate Hardy, Secretary of the Royal Society; to the Secretary of His Majesty's Treasury |
Date | 31 October 1925 |
Description | Informs the Secretary that the Royal Society have decided to nominate Professor [Joseph] Proudman FRS to serve [as the British representative] on the Hydrographical Committee, which was set up by the second Pan Pacific Congress which met in Australia last year to investigate the temperature, currents and chemical state of the Pacific ocean. Discusses expenses, but points out that it is an international Committee, not a Committee of the Royal Society, and so they do not have an estimate of costs. |
