Description | Geikie, Foreign Secretary of the Royal Society, presents his compliments and recalls the Ambassador's kindness on previous occasions in taking charge of medals which the Society has awarded to German savants. The Copley Medal, the highest honour which the Society has at its disposal, has this year been awarded to Professor Rudolf Virchow. Geikie trusts that the medal sent herewith may be forwarded to Virchow. |
