DescriptionThe Royal Society in conjunction with the Royal Astronomical Society is preparing an expedition to Senegambia in order to observe the total eclipse of sun in April 1893. The President and Council are informed that the services of Sergeant Kearney of the Royal engineers, lately photographer at the Royal College of Science, will be of great value to the expedition owing to his experience. Foster is directed to enquire whether Kearney's services can be placed at the disposal of the expedition for about six weeks from mid-March.
