|Title||Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Arthur Milnes Marshall, Fellow of the Royal Society|
|Date||27 February 1893|
|Description||Mr [William Bate] Hardy's paper was received 17th June 1891, read 18th June, and referred to Marshall 22nd June. In his report Marshall said the paper could with advantage be reduced by a fifth in length. The author's decision to publish without reference to a recently published memoir by a specially competent observer and bearing on the same subject, did not commend itself to Marshall. |
In consequence of this and some additional suggestions made by the other referee, Hardy was requested to produce a revise which is now sent. Rix asks if Marshall thinks it advisable to publish the revised paper.
