|Title||Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Messrs Harvey & Gore|
|Date||17 March 1893|
|Description||Rix returns herewith the ivory snuff-box. The arms are not those of Sir Isaac Newton or any other Englishman. Of course the Messrs' clients tradition may nevertheless be true; some foreign servant may have presented it to Newton. |
If the Messrs can obtain any definite evidence of it having really belonged to Newton the Society are willing to consider the purchase of it.
