Any paper to be read before the Royal Society must be communicated by a Fellow, that is to say, it must be endorsed with the name of some F.R.S. [Fellow of the Royal Society], who vouches for its suitability for reading at our meeting. The paper then goes before the Committee of Publication, who decide the further question whether it shall be printed.
