TitleCopy letter from [Michael Foster], to the Netherlands Charge d'Affaires
Date15 November 1893
DescriptionFoster presents his compliments, and in answer to his note of 11 November, asks to explain that the Royal Society's Davy Medal has been awarded to their countryman Mr J H van 't Hoff for his 'notable Chemical Researches'. It is therefore hoped that a diplomatic representative of the Netherlands might be present at the Anniversary Dinner of the Society. Foster hopes that Baron Gwen[?] will honour the Society with his presence on this occasion, and a card of invitation is inclosed to that effect.
