|Title||Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor James Dewar, Fellow of the Royal Society|
|Date||13 December 1893|
|Description||'Dear Professor Dewar,|
On two occasions ladies have been present at an ordinary meeting of the Society, but only "sub rosa". Their presence is not officially recognised. I feel sure there could be no objection to your friends coming to hear Miss [Marion] Greenwood's paper, but no "pass" can be given for the purpose. I inclose herewith list of the Committee of which you have been appointed a Member.
I am, yours truly,
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'.
