Description | Rix has seens Mr Dulau about 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society', and he thinks they should keep complete all the sets they can, and with years where they have more copies than they require for sets, they should cut them up into separate memoirs. Dulau states that the biggest obstacle to the sale of 'Philosophical Transactions', is that people will not buy an expensive volume for the sake of a single paper which they want.
The cost of prooducing a volume of 'Philosophical Transactions' is less than one third of the published price. They already supply Fellows at one third, and he suggests that in cases where they have a large stock they should offer the surplus to Dulau at one-fourth published price, or unstitched sheets at 10 percent less than that. If Evans can authorise this arrangement, he will proceed with the matter at once. |
