TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt], Secretary, Royal Society
Date8 January 1894
Description'My Lord,
Dr Grossmann writes this morning to say that if the paper on Ice Crystals by himself and Mr Lomes is taken during this cold weather, he could bring the actual ice crystals to the meeting. Shall I substitute this paper for one of the others, or add it to the list, to be taken "weather permitting"?
Yours truly,
H Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]

I enclose a letter from Mr Birt Acres. I have seen him this afternoon & he showed me a letter to him from Capt. Abney [Captain William de Wiveleslie Abney]. He asked me to send on to your Lordship the enclosed letter, which I promised to do, advising him at the same time to get Capt. Abney's written consent to communicate the paper. It appears that Capt Abney advised him to write to your Lordship & to Dr [faded text] HR'.
