Description'Dear Sir,
The Council of the Royal Society have decided to accept your offer placing the manuscript of the index to the "Philosophical Transactions" ['Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'] at their disposal at the rate of £5 per thousand titles. The Treasurer desires me to write and ask you how many thousand titles the Index contains, in order that we may ascertain the probable cost of printing.
