Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, Secretary, Royal Society |
Date | 20 March 1894 |
Description | Rix sends this note in the hope that it will reach Foster before he leaves. He explains that a letter has come from the Kew Observatory that morning which indicates there is an urgency about the auditing of their accounts, as it appears that they do not feel able to publish their report of their accounts until they have settled the question of auditing; as their report is usually published in March, the matter is pressing.
Rix believes they should write to John Evans, the Treasurer, to ascertain his view, and then act on that without waiting for Council, but asks that Foster let him know if he disagrees with this. A postscript records that Rix has written to Evans that morning. |
