I am instructed by Professor Michael Foster, in answer to your letter addressed to him at the end of April, to inform you that the President and Council have appointed their Treasurer (Sir John Evans, K.C.B., Nash Mills, Hemel Hempstead) and Mr Francis Cranmer Penrose ("Colebyfield", Copse Hill, Wimbledon") to represent them upon the proposed Joint Committee of Societies interested in the Antiquities of Egypt.
