TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to [Sir John Kirk, Royal Society]
Date24 July 1894
DescriptionRix explains that at the meeting of Council on 5 July it was resolved that if the Lords of the Admiralty should agree to an interview regarding the proposed Antarctic expedition, the following Fellows should represent the Royal Society: the President Lord Kelvin [William Thomson] and Officers, Sir William Flower, Sir Joseph Hooker, Sir John Kirk, Sir John Lubbock, Sir George Richards, and Professor Rucker.

He has received a note from the Admiralty to say that Lord Spencer and the Chancellor of the Exchequer will meet the deputation at the Admiralty the following Thursday at 12.30pm, and he is telegraphing him to that effect. He hopes that he will be able to attend.
