Your letter of June 13th requesting the Royal Society to appoint a delegate to represent them at the approaching Congress of Hygiene and Demography at Budapest has been laid before the President and Council of the Royal Society, and I am directed to inform you that they have appointed Sir Douglas Galton, K.C.B., F.R.S., to represent them, and that he has accepted the office.
