TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Sir Julian Pauncefote, Foreign Office
Date20 September 1886
DescriptionAcknowledges receipt of Pauncefote's letter of 18 August with enclosure and book. Regrets that the absence of all the Officers of the Royal Society from town prevented earlier acknowledgement. The interesting work by His Excellency Ghazi Moukhtar Pasha will be laid upon the table at the first meeting of Council in the forthcoming session and then placed in the library ['Riaz MOUKHTAR; or, The garden of MOUKHTAR: an account of the ancient oriental methods of astronomy and mathematics'].
