TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Dr Robert Lendlmayer von Lendenfeld
Date1 November 1887
DescriptionDr [Michael] Foster wishes Rix to say that the estimate for the 18 figures in Lendenfeld's monograph which would be represented by woodcuts is £17-4-0. This is Collings' estimate and is exclusive of the two trees. With respect to the latter, similar trees have been represented in the 'Challenger Report' by woodcuts which would cost less than plates. Collings has seen Lendenfeld's diagrams and says that each would easily go into a quarto page and could very neatly be done on wood with not very elaborate shading. Rix asks Lendenfel'd wishes as to the 18 cuts and the two trees and asks that all letters relating to cuts or plates go to Rix not to White.
