| Description | Rix met with Mr Harrison and asked why he had not printed Lockyer's columns all on one page as arranged. Harrison replied that they had tried but found it impossible in some pages unless a smaller type was used. Rix asked them to set up a specimen taking one of the most difficult pages. This morning Harrison sent the inclosed specimen and memorandum [not attached] by which it appears that if Lockyer does not object to having the headings turned around, the tables can be got out in half the space Lockyer originally intended.
Rix thinks they may fairly insist on Harrisons bearing the expense of re-setting if Lockyer thinks the cost of paper saved would be worth the further delay which the re-setting would occasion. Lockyer's labour in reducing the bulk of the tables has not been in vain since already ten pages have been saved. |
