Description | In answer to Field's letter of 9th September, Rix regrets that they find no record of her late husband's copies of the 'Philosohcial Transactions [of the Royal Society]' having been left at the Society until he should remove them, and the Society's statutes preclude the admission of claims sent in after the lapse of five years. Mr Walter White who was Assistant Secretary in 1877 is, as Field is probably aware, no longer living. |
