TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to His Excellency, The Italian Ambassador, 20 Grovenor Square, W.
Date3 May 1895
DescriptionReferring to the Messrs letter of 26th April, the Society has been expecting the parcel of books containing four volumes of the 'Rivista di Viticoltura' ever since the receipt of the Ambassador's letter. Rix notes that the letter though correctly addressed contains in the body mention that the Italian Government lends these volumes to the Royal Academy. They have therefore inquired at the Royal Academy in case the parcel has been misdirected. They have also inquired at several other institutions and at the post office but can find no trace. It seems probable therefore that the Ambassador's assistant has not yet dispatched the parcel and Rix writes to ask if this is the case.
