| Description | During Evans' absence abroad a long correspondence has been on going between Mr [George Franics] Scott-Elliot and Professor [Michael] Foster, and Sir John Kirk regarding the disposal of the botancial collections made in east Africa. Kirk has arrived at a final settlement accepted in writing by Scott-Elliot. James sends a type written copy of this settlement [not attached] which Roberts has made and it is Kirk's wish this should go to to the Director of Kew [Gardens] accompanied by a letter stating that it is final and requesting him to furnish the Royal Society with the names of those engaged on the Flora of Tropical Africa at Kew, the order alloted to them. James asks if he is to draft a letter or whether Evans is to write direct to Mr Dyer. |
