TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt], Secretary, Royal Society
Date24 September 1895
DescriptionOn returning from holiday Rix found that Mr White has obtained an estimate for lithographed plates to illustrate Threlfall, Brearley & Allen. It appeared to Rix that it was needless to go to the expense of lithography, since the drawings were very suitable for zinco. Rix has now obtained estimates for six full pages of zinco at £14-17-0. Rix incloses the two estimates for comparison [not attached] and begs that Rayleigh lets him know which scheme to proceed with. The main difference is that instead of using plate paper they should print the figures in the text. As the authors are in Australia the Society cannot consult them.
