| Description | Rix asks that Armstrong pass everything relating to the International Catalogue Committee through his hands. Armstrong's current practice of sending some items to Theodore E James and Mr White is causing disorganisation, and prevents Rix from arranging the work of the office as he does not know what they have in hand. More importantly, it also causes delays as White and James do not have the necessary authority to send messengers, so have to wait until Rix sends them to the printers.
He understands that Armstrong was communicating with White concerning classification, and Rix will naturally continue to consult him about such matters due to his expertise in cataloguing. Rix however reiterates the impracticality of managing the office unless he knows what everyone has in hand and he has control of his own messengers to the printers.
Rix notes that he will do his best to let Armstrong have the revise that night, and has sent a special messenger to the printers. |
