Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor William Edward Ayrton, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 27 May 1896 |
Description | The enclosed paper by Professor Baily on 'The Hysteresis of Iron and Steel in a rotating Magnetic Field' [not attached] has been accepted and an abstract ordered for reading and publication in the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]'. Rix is directed by the Sectional Committee for Physics and Chemistry to ask if Ayrton will report on the full paper with particular reference to four points: whether the paper should be printed in the 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]'; if yes whether in full or in part; whether modifications are necessary or desirable; which illustrations if any should be reproduced.
The work of the Committee would be much aided if Ayrton could send his report no later than 12th June but if his engagements prevent this Harrison would be obliged for an immediate intimation to that effect. |
