| Description | At the last meeting of the Physics and Chemistry Committee it was resolved that the paper by Messrs [Charles Thomas] Heycock and [Francis Henry] Neville, Rutherford, and [John Sealy Edward] Townsend should be published in the 'Transactions [of the Royal Society]', provided the reports of the second referees were in favour of such a decision. The reports of the second referees on the above papers have now been received and the Chairman desires that action may be taken under Standing Order 43.
Encloses the reports on each paper [not attached], and shall be obliged if Rayleigh will give instructions to Mr James as to sending intimation to the authors of Rayleigh's decision, and the suggestions of the referees, and as to the prompt publication of the papers. |
