TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Michael Foster, Secretary, Royal Society
Date12 October 1896
DescriptionThe President has selected Friday at 2.20pm for the Testse Fly [meeting] and Harrison has summoned the Committee accordingly.

No answer has come back to Foster's Rinderpest letter of yesterday but the Colonial Office has sent on the accompanying copy of the 'Cape Times' with the report of the Rinderpest conference [not attached].

A meeting of the Dinner Committee ought to be held soon, asks Foster to bear this in mind.

Discusses some transcription work for Professor [Edwin Ray] Lankester and queries who should pay for it.

Harrison has just had a visit from Professor Robert Wallace, Agricultural and Rural Economy at Edinburgh, who is anxious to see Foster regarding Tsetse Fly and Rinderpest. Wallace has just returned from Australia where he has been carrying out some investigations for the Government. Wallace has lately written a book on farming industries of the Cape Colony in which he says the subjects are touched upon and will send Foster a copy. Wallace is leaving for Scotland on Thursday at 2 pm but wonders if he can see Foster before then. Wallace says Sir David Tennant, Agent General for Cape Colony has information about the spread of Rinderpest.
