TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Frederick Victor Dickins, University of London, Burlington Gardens, W.
Date8 June 1896
DescriptionAcknowledges Harrison's letter of the 6th instant and is sorry that his letter of the 5th should have been so distasteful to Dickins.

Harrison has no discretion in the issue of cards of invitation for the Soiree, but the omission to forward one to Dickins spontaneously seems to have been due to a misapprehension. An invitation would naturally be issued to the Registrar of the London University and the fact of that office being marked in all the usual official directories as vacant, when the invitations were sent out, is no doubt the reason for the card not having reached Dickins some time ago. When giving instructions for further invitations, the officers as he did, no doubt forgot that Dickins had succeeded to the Registrarship.

Encloses a card [not attached].
