TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to Colonel G T Plunkett, Director of the Department of Science and Art, Kildare Street, Dublin
Date4 February 1897
DescriptionFoster, as directed by the President and Council of the Royal Society, replies to Plunkett's letter of 11 November to state that they agree with the view that in the disposition of collections made on the Irish coasts by means of the Government Grant, attention should be paid to their museum. Such matters are carefully considered by the Government Grant Committee under regulations sanctioned by the Lords or Her Majesty's Treasury, and Foster is directed to instruct that Committee that 'due regard' be paid to the claims of the museum.
