TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to Captain H G Lyone, Director Geological Survey, Public Works Department, Cairo
Date16 December 1896
DescriptionFoster notes that he received Lyone's letter of 29 November last week, and will do whatever he can to assist the investigations he proposes. He explains that they have between twenty and thirty samples of the Zagazig borings at the Royal Society, and has been in communication with Professor Judd concerning their disposition.

They have agreed that as nearly complete a set as possible should be preserved in the British Museum, but Harrison believes the collection they have at the Royal Society will be able to form duplicate sets, one of which Lyone may be sent for his investigation. Judd has agreed to superintend the arrangement of the samples, and one set will be sent to Lyone in Cairo once this has been done.
