TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor George Howard Darwin, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date7 April 1897
DescriptionHarrison has received Darwin's note with regards to [Francis Cranmer] Penrose's paper, returning the second referee's report, and on obtaining the concurrence of the Secretary on Darwin's recommendation, will put the paper as recommended for the '[Philosophical] Transactions [of the Royal Society]', at the Council meeting tomorrow.

Has this morning received the enclosed report on Mr [Sydney Samuel] Hough's paper from Professor [Horace] Lamb [not attached]. Sees from the minute that Darwin was the first referee and that the Committee referred it to Darwin to act, under Standing Order 43, upon the two reports. Darwin's own report has not yet been delivered to the Society. Asks if Darwin could manage to send in the two reports with his recommendations as to the publication of the paper, to reach Harrison tomorrow morning. Harrison will then put it on the agenda for the Council which meets in the afternoon. The matter could then be dealt with at once, otherwise it cannot pass the Council until May 13th.
