TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Messrs Drake & Gorham
Date1 June 1897
DescriptionThe Committee which met yesterday had under consideration the Messrs letter of the 26th May and they consider the modifications the Messrs propose in the electric installation of importance for the safety of the buildings. Harrison is directed to request the Messrs to put the work in hand at once on the lines laid down in the Messrs letter. Trusts the Messrs will be able to do this so that it may be completed before the 14th June.

Some comment was caused in the Committee by the statement in the Messrs report that changes had been made from time to time, such as the substitution of new for old switches and the removal of fuses by other means, having the effect of diminishing the number of safety cut outs without the effect upon the system being reported; notwithstanding that throughout the whole period from June 1887 the Messrs have accepted the responsibility of making a periodical inspection of the electric lighting plant. Harrison mentions this point as it may be taken up further than it has been at present.
