TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Sir John Evans, [Treasurer, Royal Society]'
Date16 June 1897
DescriptionThe reduction in Cataloguing staff caused by Miss Turner's retirement has not been made up for by any fresh appointment, and now Miss Chamber's informs him that if the staff is to be raised to its former strength, she thinks it would be more advantageous to the work to engage two junior copyists than to appoint another senior reviser. Asks if Evans approves of this suggestion and if so asks for a line by Monday morning as a young lady whom Miss Chambers has seen and recommended will be coming to see Harrison then. Would be glad of Evans' authority to engage her at eight shillings a week.
