TitleCopy letter Arthur William Rucker, to the Institut International de Bibliographie (Conference Bibliographique), Place Du Mussee, 1, Brussels
Date9 July 1897
DescriptionRucker's letter inviting the Royal Society of London, through the President, to send a delegate to the approaching Conference Bibliographique Internationale, was laid before their President and Council at their meeting of the 1 July and Rucker was directed to reply as follows.

In view of the responsibility which the Royal Society has incurred as the result of the International Conference on a Catalogue of Scientific Literature held in London in July last year, the President and Council felt that they could not send a delegate in the sense of declaring their adhesion to the possible decisions of the Conference. Had they been able to find that any of their Fellows were willing, knowledgeable and able to undertake the duty, they would have appointed them.
