DescriptionThe Society is in receipt of the Messrs letter of 6th August referring to Mr Louis Carrington's cheque and to the fact that the Treasurer's [John Evan's] signature thereon had been cancelled in error by the Messrs. James asks the Messrs to honour the cheque when again presented as the Treasurer is now in Canada and it will not be possible to obtain his signature afresh. They have stamped 'Royal Society' on the join in the cheque at the back to facilitate its passing.
